DetailsManali, on the Beas River Valley is an important hill station in the Himalayan Mountains of Himachal Pradesh. There are two parts to Manali - New Manali is on the banks of the Beas River and Old Manali lies east of Manalsu Nullah, which in its present form is more of a hippy enclave. Manali is also known for its shiny gompas or Buddhist Monasteries. All in all, it sports hot springs, spectacular religious shrines and temples and strenuous adventures in the surrounding mountains. Many trekkers and foreigners follow the hashish trail to Manali.
